Huck and Jim went to a different town, but before that they were sailing in the draft far away from the last town they were in. Huck went off with the duke and king to see the town and try to make some money. Huck made an escape from them and and then called out for Jim to tell him they got rid of the king and the duke. There was no answer from Jim. Huck went wondering around searching for Jim. Huck asked this boy who saw Jim and said he'd been walking around and got caught by two man. The boy said that he was wanted and that their was a reward for his capturing. The man who captured Jim received forty dollars. Huck felt bad that it was his fault Jim was a wanted man.
Things you don't expect to happen when you least expected. People finally caught Jim and this made Huck want to try to send a letter to his previous owner explaining that he was alive and what had happened to Jim. Jim's arrest was bring back Huck questions about his old life and memories he had about his old friends and family. He thought that if he told everyone the truth they would hate him and send him to jail for helping a black person become free. Huck felt guilt but also happiness that he wouldn't have to hide Jim anymore and that he would go back home.
